Midlife Revival Jazzband     

Piet Reuser started as a junior drummer in a local brass band at the age of seven. In secondary school, he founded two orchestras: the Sound New Ally Combo and the Forest Four.

His first contact with Ari van Mensvoort can be traced back to this period. In 1997 Ari toyed with the idea of setting up an Old Style Jazz Band. 

Their first attempt took place at the Jazz Festival IJsselstein  in 1997.

This was Piet’s first experience with this type of music and the positive reactions proved to be promising. 
After Piet’s first visit to New Orleans in 2000 there was no turning back. 
He was impressed and inspired by the Traditional Jazz and particularly the rhythmic aspect of the Lewis’ style.
