Two days before Christmas 2004 the Midlife Revival Jazzband was on the
programme of a concert in Music Centre "Vredenburg" in Utrecht. Tickets
were sold-out and the hall was filled with an interested and informed
audience. The admosphere during the performance was electric, the
interaction between audience and performers perfect, relaxed and
informal. Both audience and band were able to enjoy an evening of
authentic New Orleans Jazz. So it is no wonder that the evening, which
was recorded by a sound technician, provided enough good material for a
live CD.
In addition, valuable, authentic material was recorded during a
performance in the Jazz-club "Jazz aan de Amstel" in Aalsmeer and at "de
Charlestown Jazzclub" in Molenhoek. Our sincere thanks goes out to Bruno
van Acoleyen, who stood in for Peter Heijen on several occasions during
his illness.
All in all these are the reasons for the Midlife Revival Band to bring
out a live CD. Unexpected maybe, but a perfect reproduction of some very
special performances.
